The objectives include assessing the current regulatory framework's adequacy, pinpointing its limitations, and evaluating its alignment with international best practices in the oil and gas sector. Findings reveal significant deficiencies in enforcement mechanisms, transparency, and community engagement, which hinder the sector's sustainable development. Recommendations emphasize legislative reforms to strengthen regulatory capacity, improve transparency in licensing and revenue management, and enhance environmental and social safeguards.
